Dear Papa,
Yesterday we received your photograph. The letter following it also arrived. It’s
a pity that it will be so long before we meet I would have liked it more if you had
stayed here.– We are doing well, given the approaching
Easter[2]
vacations. I am
now an avid stamp collector. In order to enrich my collection, I am asking that you
send me stamps from America. On the piano I now play mainly tonal scales and
etudes. Otherwise I am amusing myself mainly with our parrots. They are very
funny, but they don’t mind making a mess etc.
Hoping to be able to see you soon, greetings from your
Tete

Dear Papa,
Yesterday we received your photograph and your letter and enjoyed both very
much. It is good that photography has been invented these days, since thus at least
we get to see you.
In the matter of Mrs. Prof.
Gonzenbach[2]
there is the following. Mrs. Prof. Gon-
zenbach will write to you herself, or has done so
already.[3]
The whole issue actual-
ly revolves around Mrs Dr. Schuhmann, whose husband died a long time ago, the
former Miss
Frenkel.[4]
I was very glad about your offer regarding the Italy trip, and I believe that it can
be done, since it’s exactly during fall
vacation.[5]
Only it would be unpleasant if we
were not alone there, since in that case we wouldn’t have much of each other, and
after all I can’t even speak with anyone in Italy. Last fall it was nice, but you have
to limit your correspondence a little, because from time to time you wrote ridicu-
lously much in
Benzingen.[6]
I think a life like the one in the Donau valley would
be the nicest
I am writing so hurriedly because you are soon
leaving,[7]
but please give a sign
during your travels and if you stay somewhere for a longer time, then write the ad-
dress so that we can answer.
Teddy[8]
asks that you send him stamps if possible. You must be getting some
from all over.
Many greetings from
Adn
