Dear Papa,
I didn’t answer until now because I was on a school trip; I want to tell you about
it when we’re together. You wrote we’re going to go near
Lübeck.[2]
That’s very
convenient for me, because then we can travel with Dr.
Knecht[3]
from here to
Hamburg, where we’ll be arriving on Monday the 18th of July; in case you feel like
having a little look around the harbor there and the city with us, come and meet us
there, otherwise you’d have to indicate where we should meet, probably in Lübeck.
Also in Hamburg it would probably be best for us to meet in a hotel or a restaurant,
because it’s often so hard to find each other at the train station; so in any case do
write us exactly where we should meet.
Then there are a few other very domestic and very important questions:
