The
treatment
of the
uniformly
rotating
rigid body seems
to
me
of
great importance
because of
an
extension
of
the
relativity
principle to
uniformly
rotating
systems[5]
that
is
based
on a
line
of
reasoning analogous
to
that
which I
tried
to
pursue
for
uniformly
accelerated translation
in
the
last
§
of
my paper
that
was
published
in
the
Zeitschr.
f.
Radioaktivit.[6]
Your
statement
that the
derivative
of the
photoelectrically
obtained
energy
with
respect
to
v
is
half
as
great
as one
should have
expected really
makes
me
think.
If
this
proves
to be correct,
then the
arrangement
of
light energy
around discrete
points
moving
with the
speed
of
light
falls
through.
One
would be forced to
interpret
the
dependence
of radiation
entropy
on
the total radiation
volume in
another
way.[7]
I
am
most curious
about
the
accuracy
of those
experiments.
With
cordial
greetings, yours very truly,
A.
Einste[in]
180.
To
Lucien Chavan
[Zurich,
19
October
1909]
Dear
Mr.
Chavan,
I
am
sending
you my military
service
book
&
the
residence
permit
with
the
request
that
you
be
so
kind
as
to
notify
the
police
and
the
military
district
command
and
the
police
about
my change
of residence.[1]
Things
have
already
started
here.[2]
I like
my
new
position
very
much. It
is
taxing,
though.[3]
Cordially yours,
A.
Einstein

Hurwitz

Highly
esteemed
Colleague:[2]
Unfortunately,
I
cannot
come
tomorrow,
because
I
will have visitors.
May
I not
perhaps come Tuesday
at
5
P.M.?
With
best
regards,
A.
Einstein
