36. An Exchange of Scientific Literature
[Einstein 1920b]
Published 4 April 1920
In: Neue Zürcher Zeitung, 4 April 1920, p. [1].
Prof. Dr. A. Einstein notifies us:
Truly efficient help could be achieved by organizing an exchange of journals and
books where the journals submitted by the central countries would be billed accord-
ing to their actual value, without regard of the rate of currency exchange. In this
way, American institutions have already supported those here in a truly liberal
manner. If such action would be undertaken, it would probably be useful to contact
the Prussian Academy of Sciences, which is in communication with all the scien-
tific institutes of the central countries and is constantly engaged in preserving the
endangered scientific life.
