DOCS. 585-587
JULY
1918
I
hope you
have
received
the
guarantee
document
regarding
the
20 000 M
in
trust.[3]
Now
I
ask
you
to
file
the
divorce
right
away[4]
so
that the
affair
is
finally
put
in order.
It
was
virtually
impossible
for
me
to
come
to Switzerland.
I don’t want
recklessness
to
be
the
cause
of
my
having
to
lie
in bed
again
for months
on
end.[5]
Amicable
regards, yours,
Albert.
The
report
about
Tete
delighted
me.
You
can
be
sure
that
I
take
the
greatest
interest in
everything you
tell
me
about the
children.
Every
trifle
is important to
me.

Michele Besso
[Ahrenshoop,
9 July
1918]
Dear
Michele,
I
have received
your
letter
with
the
original
divorce
advice-Till
Eulenspiegel.[1]
It’s
magnificent here, quite
made for
the
likes
of
me.
What
a
pity
that
you
and
our
boys
aren’t here.[2]
An
acquaintance
of mine
is
coming
to
Zurich,
a
teacher
(a
Balt) by
the
name
of
Buek,
who isn’t known
yet
in Switzerland.
I
recommended
that
he look
you up
so
that
you
can
be
of
a
bit
of
assistance to
him.
He
is
a
really good,
unaffected
person,
who deserves
having
his
way
facilitated.[3]
He
can
report
some
things
of
interest
to
you as
well.
Best
regards, yours,
Albert.

Esteemed

We

with most
obliging
thanks
receipt
of
your

along
with
the
evaluation
of
the 7th
inst. and
are
pleased
with the
resolute
and
clear form
in which
you expressed your
opinion
on
the other
application.[1]
Only
in
the
next
day
or so can we
report,
after consultation
with
our
patent
attorney,
whether
any
addition
to
the
evaluation
is
necessary.
In
the
meantime,
