Officially assumes directorship of Institute of Theoreti- cal Physics of the German University. The summer semester at the German University of Prague begins: Einstein teaches courses in the mechan- ics of discrete mass points and thermodynamics, while also conducting a physics seminar. Emil Nohel begins as assistant (Hilfskraft) to Einstein in the Institute of Theoretical Physics. Günther Beck, Dean of the Philosophical Faculty at the German University of Prague, circulates to all members of the faculty a request to conform to proper procedure in announcing course titles.
