“Jewish Nationalism and Anti-Semitism. Their Relativity,”
a variant of “How I Became a Zionist,” is published in Jew-
ish Chronicle. For Einstein’s displeasure that this publica-
tion was attributed to him rather than specified as an

Upon Elsa Einstein’s inquiry, informs that the terms of pub-
lication of the English translation of Einstein 1917a had
been settled with Robert Lawson. Until the end of 1920,
£212 was transferred to Paul Ehrenfest, according to Ein-
stein’s instructions communicated in his (nonextant) letter
of 6 Jan. [67 843].

good impression of her children, as well as his appreciation

In an interview, Elsa Einstein describes the visits to the
United States and England in great detail. She is quoted as
saying that during official banquets in both countries, state-
ments were made by the hosts indicating that Einstein’s trip
signalled an “official reinstatement” (“offizielle Wiederauf-
nahme”) of German-U.S. and German-English scientific
relations. She described the brief meeting with President
Harding as a “pantomime,” since the two men could not
converse directly due to language barriers, and therefore
limited themselves essentially to hand-shaking and a joint
photo opportunity (“gemeinsamen Sichphotographierenlas-
