Since
an
increase in the
sensitivity
of electrostatic
methods of
measurement
is
of importance
for the
study of
radioactivity,
I
hope
that
some
[5]
physicist
will
become
interested in this
matter.
I
would gladly inform
him [6]
about
my
further considerations
on
this
subject. I
was
led
to
the
plan
presented herein
by
thinking
about
how
the
spontaneous
charging
of
conductors1
required
by
the molecular
theory of
heat,
which
is
analogous
to Brownian
motion,
can
be
detected
and measured. I
hope
that, with the
plan
described, I
have
brought
this
problem
too
one
step
closer
to
its solution.
