214. To
Hans Albert Einstein
[Zurich,
15 April
1916]
Dear
Adn,
I
am expecting you Monday, 10
o’clock,
at
the
Phys.
Institute.[1]
Regards
from
your
Papa.
215. To Michele Besso
[Zurich,
21 April
1916]
Dear
Michele,
Please
pick up
Reichinstein’s book at
the
hotel.[1]
It
is brilliantly
written.
You
all could
fill
a
few
charming
hours with it.
Our
time
together
was
very
nice.[2]
I
hope
it
can
be repeated
soon.
Zangger
was
good-humored
and looks
fine.
Affectionate
greetings
also to
Anna
and
Vero,
yours,
Albert.
Please
give
the
landlady[3]
Fr.
5
from
me
and remind
me
of it
later.
216.
To Elsa Einstein
[Zurich,]
Friday.

My
dear
Else,
The
reproach
for
my
silence
weighs heavily
on
me again.
I
don’t
know,
will
you get
accustomed
to
my
laziness
sooner,
or
I to
writing;
the
former almost
threatens
to
become true.
I
enjoyed myself very
much with
Besso,
who
is
very
comfortable
with
his
new
duties.[2]
Personal
family
matters
were as
good
as
not
at all discussed
but
we
rode
on
ahead
on
our
little
hobbyhorses. During
the entire
week of
my
stay here,
I
was
not
together
with
my children,
even
though
relations
with
my
Albert had been
so
affectionate
during
the
trip.[3]
This
is
how
it
came
about:
Already on
the
second
day
he
was
at
the Institute with
me (Monday
morning)
to watch
me
prepare
the
experiment.
As
we
were
leaving
he
urged
me
to
call
on
his mother. When I
resolutely
declined,[4]
he
became
stubborn and
refused
to
return
in
the
afternoon.
That
is
how it
remained;
and
I
saw
neither
of
