yourself
will
later
also take the
view
that
you can
give
the
boys
to
me
here
without
reservations. For
the
time
being,
I’ll
see
them in Switzerland. The contract could
perhaps
state “outside
of
Prof. Einstein’s
town of
residence”
or
something similar,
instead
of
“in
Switzerland”;[1] I do not insist
on
it, though.
I
hope
to be able to
satisfy you
enough
that
you’ll
have
the
motivation to be
accommodating
toward
me as
well. I
hope
that Albert
will
write
me soon.
Best
regards
also to
the
boys,
yours,
Albert.
520. To Hans Albert Einstein
[Berlin,
after
26
April
1918][1]
My
dear
Albert,
I
was
delighted
with
your
letter. It’s
a
pity
that
your
projects
are
suffering
so
under the
wartime
hardships,
but
slowly,
very
slowly
you’ll manage.
The main
thing
is, though,
that there
is still
enough
to
fill
your hungry
mouths,
even
if
an
awful
lot
of time must be
spent
in
getting
everything.[2]
I’m particularly
pleased
with
your
cheerful mood and with
the
fact
that
you enjoy
music
so
much.[3]
That’s
something
that
remains
staunchly
with
you,
your
whole
life
long.
I
am
feeling
reasonably
well,
I just
shouldn’t walk much and
am on a
special
diet.[4]
But
I’m
in
high
spirits
and work
just
as
well
as
in
the
earlier
days.
Also,
I
am
lecturing
again
at
the
university.[5]
Recently
I
gave
a
speech
on
Prof. Planck for his
60th
birthday,
which
pleased
him and
many
others.[6] I
would have liked
to
have
seen
Tete
on
his first
day
at
school.[7] Tell
me a
bit about
it.
He
should also write
me
a
few
words of
greeting,
as
best he
can,
at
the bottom
of
your
next
letter.
Is
his
health
good,
his friend
the
little
Zürcher
boy’s also?[8]
Does he still
spend
much
time
together
with him?
In
6 weeks I’ll
be
coming
to
see you
all and
am looking
forward
to
it
very
much.
We
are
going
to
go
somewhere
up
in
the
mountains.
I
am
still
not
allowed
to
walk
much,
but that
doesn’t matter.
We
might
be
going
to
the
Engstlen
Alp.[9]

Kisses to
both
of
you
from
your
Papa.
