its board
of
trustees
(Kuratorium),
which also
consisted of
a
representative
of
the
government,
and
three
members
of
the
Kaiser
Wilhelm
Society
(see
minutes of
the Senate
of
the
Society,

provisional
statutes called
for
the board
of
directors
or
“scientific
committee”
to
make
suggestions on
research
topics,
collabo-
rating personnel,
and financial
support
to the
board of
trustees. A third administrative organ-the
working
committee
(Arbeitsausschuss),
composed
of
grant
recipients-had
also
been
established.
It
was
to meet with
Einstein
at
least
once a year
to discuss the
progress
of
its members’ work and to
exchange
ideas. No
later than three
years
after
their
appointment,
members
were
to
give an
account-
ing
of how their
grants
had been used
(see Antrag
betr.
