Einstweilen
geht
es
aber ziemlich toll her. Viele suchen Vorteil
aus
dem Unter-
einander
zu
ziehen. Es wird
leichtsinnig
mit Geldern und anderem Besitz des Staa-
tes
umgegangen.
Papiergeld
wird in
Unmengen gedruckt,
sodass das Geld immer
mehr im Werte sinkt. Die
Arbeiter
verlangen
ungeheure Löhne,
trotzdem
es
in
den
Fabriken nichts
zu
thun
gibt.
Alle
Fabriken
drohen bankerott
zu
werden.
Heute
zogen
die
Soldaten ein. Es
war
ein
lustiges
Treiben. Mit den Soldaten fuh-
ren
und
ritten viele Buben wie Ihr in den Strassen
herum
und alles
war
auf
den
Bei-
nen,
um
die Männer
zu
begrüssen,
die
so lange
schwere
Strapazen
und Gefahren
hatten
ertragen
müssen. Aber Tete soll nicht das wüste
Soldatenspiel
betreiben.
Das ist
so gar
nicht
in meinem Sinn.

Executive Council

superseded

mid-December
by a Congress
of
Councils
(Reichskongreß),
dominated
by
the
SPD,
which called
for
elections
to
a
National
Assembly
to
be held
on
19
January
1919
