Dear Tete,
Tell Mama that it is highly disadvantageous to leave the 45,000 Swiss fr. lying
in the bank for
months.[1]
I heard today from a very knowledgeable source that the
Swiss franc is
teetering.[2]
I advise all of you immediately to convert them into dol-
lars if you can’t buy a house right away. Otherwise you’ll be losing money.
Write very soon to your
Papa.
It would be best to buy Swedish, Danish, or Argentine dollar bonds instead of
dollars. You could always use those for the house purchase at the current exchange
rate.
Mama should write now to America so that not so much interest is
lost.[3]
