Cordial regards, yours,
Einstein.
Do you think that I was right about my renunciation of the League of
Nations?[4]
50. To Mileva Einstein-Maric
[Berlin,] 30 May 1923
Dear Mileva,
Today your airmail letter arrived. I must always wonder anew about your ingrat-
itude and your
mistrust.[1]
But I’m not going to let myself be stopped by that from
making the right arrangements in the interest of you all. 45,000 Fr are going out to
Albert Karr for you with the condition that they be used, at least primarily, for the
house
purchase.[2]
The rest of the N. Pr. goes out to Ladenburg, Thalmann & Co.,
New York, and will be deposited there in your name. You get the interest, the man-
agement falls to me. Mr. Koppel advised me to do it this way for technical
reasons.[3]
The securities must, of course, be purchased in America, and this way
is also recommended for the management. I’d like to see another divorced wife who
is offered everything and still behaves so badly.
Albert.
