2 1 6 D O C U M E N T 2 1 8 J U N E 1 9 2 8 218. From Max Planck Berlin, 8 June 1928 Dear Colleague, I submitted your manuscript yesterday to the Academy.[1] The proofs will be sent to you soon. There was no opportunity to speak with the mathematicians about it before submission as to whether some parts of its content are not new.[2] But I don’t think that this is a serious problem. Even if that should be the case, under any circumstances it is a new point that you believe it to be possible to complete the long sought-after unification of electrodynamics with gravitation aided by this new geometry, and that is always worth a publication. With kind regards and best wishes for your well-being, sincerely yours, Planck
