From Walter Gropius (Bauhaus) Dessau, 10 October 1925 Sends a report to the Kreis der Freunde des Bauhauses on the move of the Bauhaus from Weimar to Dessau and encloses the new version of its advertising brochure for their ap- proval. The status of the Bauhaus is very good it has finally received construction or- ders on behalf of the city, they have begun construction of seven apartment buildings and a new building for the Bauhaus itself according to plans by Gropius. Existing me- chanical engineering school, construction school, and workmen’s school under the Bau- haus’s leadership will allow for the creation of an educational entity that will bring pu- pils and collaborators into close contact with practical training. Through a generous donation by construction entrepreneur Adolf Sommerfeld, Berlin, a Bauhaus corpora- tion was founded that would ensure the commercialization of its products. TLS. [43 213]. 134.
